My Story
For years, I embodied corporate success. As Vice President of Technology at a growing bank, I spent over fifteen years climbing the ladder, driving innovation, and managing high-stakes projects. On the surface, I had it all: a lucrative career, respect, and the lifestyle I’d always dreamed of.
But underneath the polished exterior, I felt empty. My passion for business and technology, while still strong, was no longer enough. I craved something more—something creative and personally fulfilling. By the end of 2023, after one too many “talk less…smile more” comments, I knew it was time for a change.
I started planning my exit, wrestling with the fear of the unknown and the financial risks. I realized I didn’t want to stay in corporate or work for the ‘man’ anymore. I was tired of the double standards women leaders face. Nervous and scared, I questioned what I would do next.
Then, I turned to what I’ve always loved: flowers. From picking wildflowers as a kid to freelancing for friends and family, flowers have been my solace and joy. They became my escape from the corporate grind.
In March 2024, I took a leap of faith and resigned. Driven by my passion and supported by my family, I’m finally doing what I love—and I’m never looking back.
About Ruth
Gramma Ruth was the heart and soul of our family, a sweet and gentle woman whose love knew no bounds. She was the kind of grandmother who always had a warm hug and a smile ready for anyone who needed it. With her soft laughter and kind eyes, she created a home filled with warmth and comfort. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, showering them with affection and wisdom and the occasional cookie. Whether she was telling stories, baking pie, or simply sitting together with a cup of coffee, Ruth made every moment feel special. Her love was a constant source of strength and joy for all who knew her, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family.
Grandma Ruth had a special way of finding joy in life’s simplest moments, and it was her quiet contentment that inspired me to pursue my own passions. She taught me that true happiness comes from doing what you love and cherishing the small joys along the way—whether it was the quiet solitude in an afternoon or the endless curiosity of great-grandchildren. Her ability to find fulfillment in life’s little pleasures reminded me that passion isn’t about grand achievements, but about staying true to what brings you joy. Her example has stayed with me, encouraging me to follow my heart and create a life filled with purpose and love.
